Thank you for ordering a flight certificate. We are looking foward to meeting you at the airfield.

Please revisit this page for updates before your flight.

What to bring.

  • Your flight certificate and matching identification. A PayPal receipt number is NOT a substitute for a flight certificate and will not be accepted for flight.

  • Water, lunch or a snack, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera.

Midweek.

  • Midweek flights can usually be arranged with some advanced planning. Please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Before arriving.

  • A few days before your flight, contact George at 613-858-9646. He keeps an eye on the weather and other club activities which may have an effect on your flight.

  • On a weekend or holiday, we recommend calling the airfield at 613-366-8208 (don't leave a message). We may be able to provide an update or advise of a rapidly growing flight line. Operations typically don't begin until after 10am. At times, we are out of reach of the phone, and we apologise if we are unable to answer.

  • Midweek, it is not be necessary to call the airfield because you will have made special arrangements.

At the airfield.

  • A club member will validate your flight certificate and check your identification.

  • You will be briefed on the aircraft and the upcoming flight.

  • You will be asked to read and sign our standard waiver.

  • A weight-and-balance calculation will be made. Your weight and the weight of the pilot must be within the glider's operating limits. Weight is rarely an issue up to about 109 kilograms (240 lbs).

  • Your flight will likely take place amongst regular operations, so you'll observe our ground operations, lessons and solo flights.

  • Ask any of our members for further details on becoming a glider pilot or the sport of soaring.

Helpful information.

  • It is not possible to guarantee flight times. We operate on a volunteer basis and Introductory Flights occur while members are training, flying recreational flights, or preparing for cross-country epics.

  • Please keep away from the runway unless accompanied by a club member. An approaching glider is silent and a danger to the unwary.
